Güde Bread Knives

Since 1910, four generations of Güde knives have been handcrafted in Solingen, Germany. Today, nearly every bread knife worldwide features the serrated edge invented and patented by Franz Güde in 1941. The cutting ability of the Güde serration remains unmatched. Over 40 steps are required to produce each knife. The blades of Güde knives, made from chrome-vanadium-molybdenum stainless steel are ice-hardened, and sharpened by hand.
